Mr Jarrad Stevens

Orthopaedic Hip & Knee Surgeon

Mr Jarrad Stevens is a Melbourne-trained Orthopaedic surgeon who has recently returned from two years of sub-specialty training in the United Kingdom to join our team at Knox Orthopaedic Group.

Jarrad graduated Medical School from the University of Adelaide in 2006 before completing the Victorian Orthopaedic training program in 2016, and commencing a consultant position at Frankston Hospital. 

In 2017, Jarrad completed his first fellowship in complex and revision hip & knee joint replacement surgery at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, Scotland. During this time, Jarrad gained valuable experience in robotic joint replacements and was awarded a Post Graduate Diploma in computer assisted Orthopaedic surgery.

In 2018 he completed his advanced trauma surgery fellowship at Southmead Major Trauma Centre, Bristol. Jarrad then completed a further fellowship at the prestigious Avon Orthopaedic Centre, where he specialised in soft tissue knee surgery, patellofemoral joint stabilization procedures and sports injuries.

During his time in the United Kingdom, Jarrad was awarded his Master of Surgery title from the University of Edinburgh and was presented the Sir Harold Stiles Medal for his research into revision knee replacements.

Jarrad is a well-published surgeon, with papers in Orthopaedic trauma, joint replacements, surgical techniques and exposures as well Orthopaedic oncology. Jarrad employs a cutting-edge evidenced based approach to surgery, and this is facilitated by his faculty status on multiple international and local courses for trauma and elective Orthopaedics, and as a peer reviewer for several high-impact Orthopaedic journals.

Complementing a strong academic background, Jarrad is serving member of the Australian Defence Force, and has deployed on active service to Iraq, Kuwait, Afghanistan and areas of the Middle East.

Jarrad’s outside interests include running, fishing, cricket, and spending time with his wife and three beautiful children.

Jarrad is available to offer advice and discuss patient management with you for any lower limb conditions and trauma that may present within your practice. He happily reviews workcover, TAC and insured patients and can accommodate urgent referrals.
