Mokbil is our present Fellow. He is a full qualified Orthopaedic Surgeon completing his training in Israel in 2014. He has an interest in lower limb reconstructive surgery. He came to our Fellowship to learn more about the minimally invasive direct anterior hip replacement.
During his twelve months with us he has had the opportunity to learn this technique in detail and has performed several cases under supervision.
Mokbil comes from the Bnai Zion Medical Centre, Haifa in Israel. He will be returning there in August 2017. The AMIS approach is a very new approach in Israel and Mokbil is very keen to take this technique back home.
He has very much enjoyed his stay in Australia both professionally and culturally. He has been accompanied by his wife and two young children who have very much enjoyed Australian culture, scenery and wildlife. It has been a great pleasure to have Mokbil with us. We have learnt much from him about the state of affairs in the Middle East.
Elango was our first Fellow at Knox Orthopaedic Group and St Vincent’s Public Hospital in 2015. Elango completed his orthopaedic training in Christchurch, New Zealand.
Prior to completing his Fellowship with us he had completed a twelve month Fellowship in foot and ankle surgery with Mr Tim Schneider at Melbourne Orthopaedic Group.
Elango is a most delightful and generous person. Fortunately during the latter part of his stay a Visiting medical officer position became available at St Vincent’s Public Hospital. He has taken up that position specialising in foot and ankle surgery as well as performing direct anterior hip replacement. Elango has also joined our practice at Knox Orthopaedic Group.
During his Fellowship he learnt the AMIS approach hip replacement which he continues to use. He has a major interest in both traumatic and elective foot and ankle conditions.
